TerraScan Introduces Direct Connection to LumiDB

For years, the LiDAR industry has been defined by fragmented workflows. LumiDB was built to change that; it was designed to be the central bridge for the entire point cloud lifecycle. With the release of TerraScan version 026.006 (March 2, 2026), TerraScan is now natively integrated with LumiDB. This integration proves the core thesis of LumiDB: Data is an active asset, not a static archive.

For years, the LiDAR industry has been defined by fragmented workflows. We process in one sandbox, visualize in another, and often store the results in a graveyard of static LAS files. LumiDB was built to change that; it was designed to be the central bridge for the entire point cloud lifecycle.
With the release of TerraScan version 026.006 (March 2, 2026), we are seeing a fundamental structural pillar of that bridge move into place. TerraScan, the industry-standard software for point-cloud processing, is now natively integrated with LumiDB.
The new Upload to LumiDB menu command allows selected LAS/LAZ files to flow directly from Terrasolid software into a centralized point cloud database. This integration proves the core thesis of LumiDB: Data is an active asset, not a static archive. It marks the transition from a file-based workflow to a database-centric one.

Technical Deep Dive

In practice, the integration in version 026.006 creates a clean, high-fidelity pipeline between the processing desk and the cloud. Users can now bypass external uploaders or manual data handling. You select your processed files within the TerraScan interface and push them directly to the LumiDB environment. Here, data can be streamed to stakeholders, clients, or other GIS platforms via a simple web link.
